THE CYRIL JONES ENGLISH COUNTRY DANCE MUSIC COLLECTION

In the course of his long involvement with English Country Dancing, Cyril Jones, the club's founder, amassed a large collection of cassette tapes, CDs, books and pamphlets.  The collection amounts to about 200 tapes, 100 CDs and 270 books and pamphlets.  Winchmore FDC, with the blessing of the Jones family, has decided to keep the collection together and to make it available to the ECD community.

The collection has been catalogued and listed on an Excel spreadsheet. To obtain a digital copy, ECD clubs, callers and researchers are invited to contact the Secretary of WFDC, giving an email address to which the spreadsheet can be sent.  Because of the cost and the amount of work involved, it is not intended to make paper copies of the catalogue available.

The Committee’s view is that the collection should be viewed as a resource ‘of last resort’.  If interested parties are unable to find a specific item elsewhere they are invited to contact the Club Secretary with details of their requirements and efforts will be made to arrange a loan.
